The Neuzeller Stiftskirche St. Marien is known as the baroque wonder of Brandenburg. The late Gothic hall church was extensively rebuilt between 1650 and 1750. Particularly impressive are the richly decorated altars, which turn the church into a baroque theatre setting. The lavish decoration with stuccoes, wall and ceiling paintings and the numerous figures, angels and putti come from the Bohemian cultural area, as the monastery maintained very close relations with Prague at that time. For the north-east of Germany, the overwhelming spatial experience of the collegiate church is unique.
Today the collegiate church is used as a Catholic parish church. It can be visited individually outside the church services or as part of guided tours during opening hours (registration at the Neuzelle visitor information desk). Students of the Rahnschule Neuzelle developed a special guided tour for young people. This can be downloaded via a QR code.
Christmas, New Year's Eve, New Year's Eve and Easter are limited viewing times, which you can receive on request.
