The station at the southern entrance to the city of Rheinsberg has not had a ticket office since June 1996. The "AG Rheinsberger Bahnhof", founded in 1997 and consisting of active or former railway workers, was able to revive the station. In the locomotive shed now disused vehicles and other railway equipment are exhibited.
The exhibits include a small Kö II locomotive, a Berlin subway car from 1927, a SKL 25 and various railway cars, including a former nuclear transport car. The loco 52 8177 of the Dampflokfreunde Berlin was reconditioned in 1998 in Meiningen, with it special trips under steam to Rheinsberg take place. Every Tuesday the collection of railway technology, tickets and documents is displayed in the locomotive shed. On other days guided tours are possible by arrangement.
